Genuine toquilla straw hats are woven in Ecuador with a traditional, ancestral technique that UNESCO recognised as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The elaboration of each hat is completely by hand, taking an artisan from one to eight months to complete it, depending on its fineness (WPI)*
