Extravagant Ikat Woven Designs

The famous macanas and ponchos from Cuenca are made of 100% cotton threads, woven with a backstop loom and dyed completely by hand with natural tints creating unique patterns. The traditional Ikat weaving technique is an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity as declared by UNESCO in 2015.
